FUNERAL ORATION PRESENTED ON BEHALF OF YAHWEH’S ETERNAL COVENANT MINISTRY HOUSTON TX IN HONOR OF MOTHER IFEYINWA MORRIS

No words can describe the collective hollowness we feel within us today, from the loss of our most precious jewel, Mother Ifeyinwa Morris. Your unexpected departure has left us with a burden in our spirits that is difficult to lift and a void in our fellowship that is difficult to fill. You have been in every way a worthy ambassador of Christ, a true child of God, committed to His covenant and unwavering in your firm resolution to serve Him with every fiber of your being.

You seized on every moment to remind us of the presence of God, down to your daily greetings and salutations with others that always ended in your trademark phrase, “By the Grace of God”. Even in the last feast of Passover that we were privileged to share together, you gave an edifying testimony of God’s goodness and mercy, which you ended with a heart-felt admonition that we must endeavor to love one another, as Christ loved us. In retrospect, it only but seems as if you knew that the final hour was coming, and you chose to leave us with the greatest and most compelling message of all times –  Love!

You never shied away from the call of duty and was always eager to lend a hand, to encourage and to support. We feel tremendous gratitude for the years we spent with you and for the lessons we learnt from you; lessons of love and forgiveness, lessons of faith and devotion, lessons of commitment to a noble purpose and to a life of selfless service to others.

Mother, it is still hard to believe that you have left us this soon to depart to your celestial home.  Our hearts are sore and the pain is hard to bear. And yet we do not despair or mourn like a people without hope; because we take comfort in the noble life you lived; a life of trust and hope in God, a life of forgiveness and love to all. Even till your last moment the peace and serenity you exuded throughout your lifetime did not leave you. You passed on a gentle soul, accompanied by a consortium of angels in a blaze of glory!

Words shall always fail us to describe the depth of our love for you and the vastness of the vacuum you have left behind. But it is well, our beloved Mother in the Lord; because we know that you have answered a higher call and you are now in a better place. Farewell our beloved Mother! May the good Lord bless and keep you till we meet to part no more. Adieu!
